I’ve been dancing since 1960 and calling since 1963. I lost a bet to my mother who insisted that I try square dancing at least three times. The third time hooked me.

I taught my first class in 1963 after borrowing money from my folks to buy a small sound system.  I was able to pay them back before the class was over.  I’ve been calling ever since!

I call and teach Basic through C-1, prompt contras, and also enjoy dance party events.  I currently teach for the Buckles & Bows.

Calling has given me the opportunity to travel extensively in the United States, Canada, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Germany, Costa Rica, New Zealand, Australia, and Japan. I still feel “dancing as a team of eight” is the best recreation in the world.

I’m a practicing dentist so calling is an avocation very different from my “Dr. Mike” side. Thankfully, my wonderful wife Lisa, my family, and staff have been a tremendous support.

Please take a look around my site.  Reach out to me if you have any questions!
